The doll features an elongated, tapered wooden torso hand-painted with vibrant red and green floral motifs flanked by bands of multicolored lathe-spun rings. Its oversized, rounded head displays the signature Takobozu expression, defined by large, wide-set eyes encircled with a prominent pinkish-red blush, a distinctly outlined nose, and a subtle mouth. The natural wood grain shows a beautiful, warm patina, and the painted linework remains sharp and well-preserved.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eArtisan Note\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eBorn in 1947 in Inawashiro, Fukushima, Fumio Kakizaki trained in both the Naruko and Tsuchiyu traditions before establishing his own workshop in 1968. By 1970, with his master’s permission, he dedicated himself to the expressive Nakanosawa Takobozu (octopus-head) style.
