Ainu wooden brooch hand-carved in Hokkaido. Crafted in an asymmetrical, stylized leaf or bird-wing silhouette with an openwork cutout. The carved relief depicts the side profile of a woman wearing a traditional Ainu headpiece (matanpushi) detailed with geometric and floral patterns, flowing grooved hair, and notched accents along the outer curve. The piece is carved from light natural wood with a warm finish, featuring a smooth, flat reverse fitted with a standard metal roll-over safety pin clasp.
Condition: Very good vintage condition.
