This is a charming set of five Japanese porcelain chopstick rests (hashioki) in the traditional gourd (hyōtan) shape, a symbol of good fortune and protection in Japan. Each piece is hand-painted with a colorful floral motif in overglaze enamels.
The smooth white glaze and rounded form make them both decorative and practical for everyday table settings or special occasions.
