Japanese kiss-lock clutch purse made of authentic pure silk Hakata weave (Honba Chikuzen Hakata-ori / 本場筑前博多織). It features a textured dusty-rose and cream geometric floral brocade pattern bordered with black trim and a decorative gold-tone metal clasp. The interior opens to a dual compartment lined in rich magenta-purple ribbed fabric. It comes preserved in its original paulownia wooden presentation box (kiribako) with the authentic factory paper band.
Hakata-ori (博多織) is a traditional Japanese textile from Fukuoka, known for its tightly woven, stiff silk fabric with geometric patterns. Originally used for obi (kimono sashes), it combines durability with elegant design, often featuring Buddhist motifs like stripes and floral crests. The craft has over 770 years of history and is recognized as an Important Intangible Cultural Property of Japan.
