This rare massive vintage Sosaku (creative) Kokeshi doll was handcrafted by Ishimura (石村作). The doll features a distinctive rounded silhouette with a serene, minimalist face. Her kimono displays a beautiful combination of deeply chiseled wood textures and painted floral motifs in warm rust, yellow, green, and white dots. The engraved and slightly raised face gives the kokeshi a three-dimensional and graceful appearance. Furthermore, it stands out for its regal and dreamy facial expression, highlighted by squinted eyes and perfectly painted "heart-shaped" lips.
The original paper label and artisan stamp are preserved on the base.
