This elegant vintage Japanese lacquerware tray features an intricate woven split-bamboo or rattan texture coated in a rich, glossy dark brown urushi lacquer. It is crafted with smoothly rounded corners and integrated crescent-shaped handles wrapped tightly with fine cord for a secure, comfortable grip. Produced by the renowned Kyoto-based lacquerware studio Urushi no Jozaburo (株式会社うるしの常三郎), the accompanying leaflet includes text brushed by the celebrated Living National Treasure artist Otomaru Kodo.
It comes with its original box and information leaflet.
