Japanese clasp-closure handbag beautifully adorned with intricate beadwork all over. The black base is decorated with modern geometric patterns resembling gold and pink flowers, giving it a very elegant and glamorous impression. This design is perfect not only for traditional Japanese attire (kimono) but also as a party bag for formal occasions.
Most vintage Japanese beaded bag date back to the late 1950s through the 1970s, a period when they became highly popular after Princess Michiko carried one for her 1959 wedding. The bags were handmade by skilled kimono and obi belts embroiderers who used a special technique of sewing glass seed with waxed thread to make the structure extra strong. Made with high-quality, uniform Japanese glass beads, these bags are known for keeping their shape and shine over decades.

Condition: Exterior: There are no missing beads or noticeable fraying, and it is in very beautiful condition for a vintage item.
Hardware: The plated part of the clasp has some age-related dullness and minor scratches, but it opens and closes smoothly and does not affect usability (please see images for details).
