Technique:

Inden is a Japanese craft tradition that began in the Edo period. Originally developed in Kōshū (today Yamanashi Prefecture), it involved decorating deerskin with lacquer to create durable, lightweight materials. These items, prized for their strength and elegance, were popular among samurai, who used them for practical accessories like tobacco pouches, sword sheaths, and armor decorations. Inden’s intricate patterns and craftsmanship reflected the refined tastes of the era, blending utility with artistry while symbolizing the samurai's focus on functionality and aesthetics.

Today, Inden is widely used for bags, wallets, and accessory cases, and is gaining popularity as an excellent product that becomes more comfortable in the hand the more it is used.
