Beautiful large round tray created in the traditional Japanese rantai technique. The production process involves splitting flexible Japanese timber bamboo into uniform strips, weaving them into a geometric pattern, applying many coats of lacquer, and meticulously polishing the surface. The subtle, rhythmic texture visible beneath the glossy lacquer surface reveals the underlying bamboo structure, creating a distinctive visual depth that changes with the light.
Both functional and elegant, this tray is ideal for serving tea, sweets, or small dishes, and also works beautifully as a decorative accent in both modern and traditional interiors.
