This is a traditional Japanese sake bottle, known as a tokkuri. It features a wide, bulbous body made from unglazed, iron-rich stoneware that resembles Bizen ware. The rustic finish is decorated with a glossy, dark brown glaze drip flowing naturally from the neck down the front, showcasing a classic wabi-sabi aesthetic.
The bottom reveals concentric wheel-thrown ridges and a small, distinct square potter's seal stamped into the outer rim, identifying its artisan origin. Pieces like this are traditionally used for serving warm or cold sake, but they are also frequently collected as studio pottery or used as minimalist bud vases.
