This elegant vintage Japanese wallet is made from Kaga Yūzen silk (加賀友禅), a traditional hand-dyeing technique from Ishikawa Prefecture. As described in the enclosed leaflet, Kaga Yūzen developed over 300 years ago and is known for its refined, painterly style, natural color gradations, and motifs inspired by flowers and seasonal nature. The technique emphasizes subtle shading and depth rather than bold outlines, resulting in a soft yet highly detailed appearance.
The silk exterior features a warm orange-red base with delicate floral and flowing patterns. The wallet is finished with a classic metal clasp frame in a copper tone. Inside, it is lined with soft yellow fabric and includes a central divider compartment for practical use.
