Kaga Yuzen Silk Coin Purse

This tiny vintage Japanese wallet is made from Kaga Yūzen silk (加賀友禅), a traditional hand-dyeing technique from Ishikawa Prefecture. As described in the enclosed leaflet, Kaga Yūzen developed over 300 years ago and is known for its refined, painterly style, natural color gradations, and motifs inspired by flowers and seasonal nature. The technique emphasizes subtle shading and depth rather than bold outlines, resulting in a soft yet highly detailed appearance.

The wallet is finished with a classic metal clasp frame ("gamaguchi"). Inside, it is lined with soft red fabric.

The label on the box contains calligraphy reading from top to bottom:

Japanese: 高級 本染 加賀友禅 (Reading: Kōkyū Honzome Kaga Yūzen)

Meaning: 高級 (Kōkyū): High quality / Luxury, 本染 (Honzome): Authentic/traditional dyeing, 加賀友禅 (Kaga Yūzen)
