Vintage Japanese Sosaku (creative) kokeshi doll attributed to Kazuo Takamizawa 高見沢一夫 (born 1927), a recipient of the prestigious Prime Minister’s Award.
Turned from natural wood, this tall, slender piece features a sculpted black hairstyle framing a minimalist, serene face with narrow eyes and softly blushed cheeks. The body is decorated with camellia blossoms (tsubaki) accented by green foliage and detailed pyrographic stippling. The doll is mounted on a matching black wooden display base

Condition: Very good vintage condition with just minor signs of age including a tiny chip on the hair area (please see photos for details).
