This set consists of five square lacquer plates in a deep red (wine-red) tone, featuring a distinctive woven basket pattern characteristic of Kurume Rantai lacquerware. The surface shows a subtle relief that imitates bamboo weaving, finished with glossy urushi lacquer, giving depth and warmth to the color.
Kurume Rantai lacquerware is made by applying lacquer over a woven bamboo core, combining lightness with durability. The pattern visible on the surface reflects this traditional technique.
The plates were stored long-term in a cupboard and are described as unused, therefore classified as “near unused / like new.” No chips or cracks are visible in the photos. The lacquer surface appears even, with natural reflections typical of urushi.
