This vintage pair of Japanese creative kokeshi dolls, titled Tsubaki Musume (Camellia Girl), is handcrafted by the artisan Noboru. Carved from solid wood with a rich, dark-brown glossy finish, each doll features a gentle face with sweeping black hair, narrow eyes, a white teardrop nose dot, and a touch of red on the lips.
Their cylindrical bodies are detailed with painted red camellia blossoms paired with deep green leaves, set between decorative horizontal bands. Both pieces carry the artisan’s handwritten signature and title on the underside.
