This vintage Sosaku Kokeshi doll, titled "Omoi Shizukani" (想いしずかに - Quiet Thoughts), was crafted by Sato Suigai (佐藤翠涯). The figure features an elongated, fine lathe-grooved natural wood body etched with stilt grass motifs, topped with a tilted head that displays a smooth black bun, soft closed eyes, and small red lips. The bottom of the figure is hand-signed by the artist, stamped with his red seal, and inscribed with the piece's title and its Prime Minister’s Award recognition.
The original box and wooden plaque reaffirm the title, size (Tokudai / extra-large), and artist credentials. Additionally, the included orange leaflet highlights Sato Suigai's background as both a modern kokeshi master and Nihonga painter, listing "Omoi Shizukani" at the top of his notable works alongside an honor of a purchase by the Crown Prince.
