This vintage creative (Sosaku) Kokeshi doll is titled "Semishigure", which translates to "Cicada's Song." It was crafted by Suigai (Sadahachi) Sato, a highly decorated master artisan born in Gunma Prefecture in 1920.

The figure stands out due to its distinctively tilted head, featuring a traditional hairstyle with a side bun, delicate eyelashes, and small red lips. The doll wears a deep blue kimono secured by a natural, uncolored wooden obi around the waist.

The body is etched with a 'Stilt Grass' motif, a wetland plant that reflects regional agriculture and healthy crops.
