Pair of vintage Japanese Sosaku Kokeshi dolls titled "Yukiko Misaki" (Snow Cape), created by woodworker Shido Shozan (1932–1995). The minimalist design features hooded snow capes, showcasing visible wood grain patterns with subtle, delicate facial details.

Condition: Very good vintage condition with beautiful natural wood grain. Please note two tiny holes on the lower base of the smaller kokeshi (visible in close-up photos). Shows minor age-appropriate surface wear.
About the artist:
After graduating with a law degree in 1959, Shozan became arguably the most influential artist in the world of Sosaku Kokeshi doll-making. His highly collectible work is defined by a minimalist aesthetic, simple elegant shapes. Throughout his celebrated career, he won numerous honors, including the prestigious Prime Minister’s Award, and even served as a judge for the All Japan Kokeshi Contest.
