This is a set of five handmade Japanese sake cups called guinomi. They are made in the Shino-yaki style, which is a traditional type of pottery from the Mino region of Japan. You can recognize them by their thick, milky-white glaze and the small holes on the surface that look like the skin of an orange.
The set comes in its original wooden storage box. There is also a small paper label on the side of the box that lists the product number and confirms these are Shino-ware cups. The cups are shaped with flat sides to make them easy and comfortable to hold.
Size: height ca. 4 cm, diameter (outer) ca. 5,3 cm
Condition: One cup has a tiny chip on the inside, which does not affect its usability (please see images for details). The box shows age-related wear and marks from old masking tape.
