A vintage Japanese lacquerware (合成漆器) tea ceremony set from the Showa era, consisting of a round serving tray and five matching coasters (chaku).
Each coaster features one of the “Five Gentlemen” (五君子) motifs, a classic theme in Japanese aesthetics symbolizing elegance and noble character:
Pine (松) – endurance
Bamboo (竹) – integrity
Plum (梅) – renewal
Chrysanthemum (菊) – grace
Iris (菖蒲) – refinement
The surface has a deep red-brown lacquer finish, giving a subtle reflective sheen.
Comes in the original storage box (TRADEMARK LINDEN).
Unused long-term storage item; slight aging to the box.
Material: pressed metal with lacquered finish
Era: Showa (likely 1960s–1980s)
