Massive Vintage Japanese Sosaku (creative) Kokeshi doll titled "Hidamari" (Sunny Spot), handcrafted by the award-winning artisan Toa Sekiguchi (b. 1942) in Gunma Prefecture. This collectible wooden doll features a rounded silhouette, a finely detailed bob haircut, and a vibrant vermillion kimono adorned with elegant gold-accented floral motifs.

Condition: Good vintage condition with no major structural damage. Some minor scratches are present. Please review the provided photographs carefully.

The son of the legendary Sansaku Sekiguchi, Toa has won numerous prestigious accolades, including the Prime Minister’s Award. He is celebrated for his painterly skill, using vibrant vermillion, black, and gold tones on native dogwood to blend traditional woodwork with modern, expressive artistry.
